I love technology.

Every now and then an idea will come to my head that just has to come to fruition. There are no ifs, ands or buts. If I don't follow through with it, it will sit in my mind and just bother me until I eventually give in. I have very little will power when these things happen and 99% of the time, it's related to purchasing technology products. So what sparked this?

2 or 3 weeks ago, I got back into playing World of Warcraft. Before then, it had been a good 5 or 6 months since I had played. Now, I'm by no means a hardcore gamer. I wouldn't even consider myself hardcore when it comes to playing this particular game but as of late, the sheer choppiness of my video card has started to bug me. Now, as I said, I'm not a hardcore gamer and that is reflected by my computer. I have a Mac mini and a Macbook...both with the not-so-great Intel GMA950 video card. The game is playable with all the settings on low; still a bit choppy, but playable. Now, I wouldn't have had a care in the world about the graphics if Apple didn't just release their new Mac mini's with a better video card. Shit. So, in comes the idea that I need to improve my graphics and I've been obsessed with coming up a way to do this.

Before I did that though, I tried upgrading my current set up. I went out and maxed out the RAM in my mini. There was very little improvement. What else? My parents and my sister need a new home computer and I've been pushing them to splurge and drop a few hundred for a Mac mini (this was before "the idea" came into my head). So now, I'm negotiating for them to buy the one I currently have so I can go out and buy the new one. I'm even giving them a pretty good deal, TAX FREE! Ugh...this is becoming so very sad. I'm at work every morning looking at specs on the machine. I'm waiting for someone to post a review on how the game runs on these new minis but even that is barely holding me back. I MUST HAVE IT.

Stupid ideas. I was hoping this entry would alleviate "the idea" but instead, I'm just wanting to finish this up so I can go search for more info. BAH!
